New York Times Bestselling Author Lori Nelson Spielman joins the Avon family

Here at Avon Books we are thrilled to announce we have signed a deal for a ‘beautiful, escapist’ women’s fiction title with Lori Nelson Spielman. Phoebe Morgan acquired UK & Commonwealth rights to this book from Sarah Manning on behalf of Jenny Bent at The Bent Agency. North American rights were previously sold to Claire Zion and Sarah Blumenstock at Berkley, on an exclusive submission, by Jenny Bent at The Bent Agency. German rights were sold to to Fischer, in a major deal, by Bastian Schlueck on behalf of Jenny Bent at the Bent Agency. The book will be published by Berkley in the US in early 2020, followed by UK publication by Avon in Spring 2020.

Phoebe Morgan, Commissioning Editor at Avon said: ‘When this manuscript landed on my desk I knew I had something very special. The central figure of Aunt Poppy is one of the best characters I’ve ever read and I fell head over heels for her story – a beautifully written journey of self-discovery which will make you long to go to Italy. This is escapist fiction at its absolute finest.’

Lori Nelson Spielman said: ‘I’m elated that my new book will be published in the UK, under the guidance of the fabulous Phoebe Morgan and the extraordinary team at Avon. It’s such an honor to be welcomed into the Avon family, the publishing home of many of my favourite authors. I couldn’t be more excited!’

Lori Nelson Spielman is a New York Times, USA Today and Der Spiegel bestselling author. She is also a former speech pathologist, guidance counsellor, and homebound teacher.
